BA CSE003 Managing work in Confined Spaces
This unit is for any person who has responsibility for planning Safe Systems of work after Risk assessment, for others entering Confined Spaces, uses permits to Work as part of a safe system and is appointed by the Employer to be the responsible or Authorising Officer responsible for Confined Spaces and implementing/ maintaining the Employer’s Confined Spaces policy.
Aims and Objectives
This course focuses on planning, organizing, and managing work safely in confined spaces including legislative roles and responsibilities, health and safety considerations and equipment requirements. Candidates will have normally completed the relevant 6150 confined space entry qualification for the situations they manage.
- This course focuses on the candidate’s’ knowledge to plan, organise and control work safely at Confined Spaces by demonstrating how to:
- Interpret the duties imposed by legislation applicable to Confined Spaces Work
- Interpret Water UK Confined Space Entry Classification scheme effectively.
- Undertake a risk assessment for a given task at a Confined Space successfully
- Develop a safe method of work as part of a safe system of work for a given task at a Confined Space successfully
- List the requirements needed to manage work equipment and personal protective equipment at Confined Spaces
- Understand the controls necessary to deal with problem atmospheres at Confined Spaces
- Complete the requirements of a Permit to Work for a given task at a Confined Space
- Construct an appropriate emergency plan for a Confined Space activity
- Describe training, experience, and medical exclusions for Workers at Confined Spaces
